On Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, the NHF, together with Africadelic, held a meeting in Amsterdam with the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Angola, Mrs. Henny de Vries, to discuss upcoming cultural projects related to Dutch-Angolan relations. Following the preliminary research for the Atlas of Dutch Angola, which focuses on the Dutch presence in Angola (1641–1648), the second phase of the archival research will be presented in early 2026.
In collaboration with Angolan institutions, the NHF intends to initiate an archaeological survey in Angola in 2026, to be followed by a symposium on shared cultural heritage. The year 2026 will also mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Angola and the Netherlands, offering numerous new opportunities for cultural and economic exchange.
