The NHF is pleased to share the internship research report by Lauren Tomasouw, “Collaborating with Indigenous Peoples: Practices in Cultural Institutions in the Netherlands and New York State.”
Her internship at the New Holland Foundation (NL), the New Netherland Institute (NY, USA), and the National Archives of the Netherlands (NL) was part of the Master’s programme in Postcolonial and Heritage Studies at Leiden University.
The research provides practical examples of how cultural institutions on both sides of the Atlantic approach the representation and collaboration with Indigenous communities, as well as the opportunities and challenges they encounter in doing so.
