NHF for Dutch heritage overseas

Coming to a close

As my five months in Brazil come to a close, I’ll be flying back to Amsterdam tonight. It has been a highly productive and rewarding period.
All photos and descriptions for our publication on the archaeological research of Fort Orange have now been completed. The next phase will focus on processing the data and writing the final texts.
In addition, a cooperation agreement in the field of historical archaeology between Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and the New Holland Foundation has been finalized, strengthening Dutch–Brazilian collaboration for the coming five years. Together with @Instituto Ricardo Brennand in Recife, we have also developed plans for an exhibition in 2030, marking 400 years of Dutch Brazil.
I look forward to returning to Brazil this October to continue the project. For now, I’m heading back to Amsterdam to further develop the results and reconnect with colleagues and friends.
